Cooking: A Vanishing Art in Today’s World

Kitchen-less Home: Future of today's world.

This term might look unrealistic but that is where our future will take us if we are not taking our current life style seriously.

My previous article on "Cooking: Unbeatable art of woman" has already mentioned the importance of cooking.

But friends "Is this cooking art going to continue with time?" Chances seems to be less. Cooking, once considered an essential life skill and a cherished tradition, is gradually vanishing in today’s fast-paced world.

The pressures of modern life, changing lifestyles, and the convenience of ready-to-eat meals have led many to stop or reduce home cooking to a great extent. While technological advancements and food delivery services offer convenience, they also pose a threat on cooking process.

In the past, cooking was an integral part of daily life. During get-togethers, occasions families gathered around the kitchen, sharing recipes and enjoying home-cooked meals. However, the rise of fast- food chains, packaged meals, and food delivery applications has significantly reduced the time people spend in the kitchen.

Reasons are many as described for decline in home-cooking, but the impact of this Vanishing Art of Cooking would be big in terms of:

1. Health Issues: Processed and fast food often contain excessive fats, sugars, and preservatives, leading to obesity and lifestyle diseases.

2. Loss of Cultural Heritage: Traditional recipes and cooking techniques passed down through generations are being forgotten. Our rich knowledge of spices is also getting lost.

3. Reduced Family Bonds: Home-cooked meals bring families together the loss of this tradition weakens family connections.

But still it's just a start, a hope of Reviving the Art of cooking back is there if we give a serious thought:

1. Encouraging Cooking Education: Schools and communities can promote cooking skills among young people.

2. Work-Life Balance: To some extent, if possible, try to take out time for cooking from busy schedule in a pre-planned way.

3. Promoting Healthy Eating Habits at our home first.

4. Use of technology as a tool: Use it to learn or innovate new and global recipes, to explore more on cooking techniques to make cooking easier and more accessible. But not to depend on it completely, use it when needed and not for luxury.

While cooking is disappearing in today’s fast-paced world, its importance remains undeniable.

It is not just about preparing food but also about preserving health, culture, and relationships. By finding a balance between convenience and tradition, we can ensure that cooking continues to be a valuable and cherished skill for future generations.

An UMBRELLA mindset: Feeling calm in life's Rainy Moments

Rain is natural. Are we able to stop it?  Are we able to avoid going in rain?   Answer is NO ,   Rather we  CARRY AN UMBRELLA & Enjoy the moment .   Same way,  If unpredictable response comes from our loved-ones in life, what should we do? TAKE AN UMBRELLA APPROACH.   Let me explain in brief: Rain is natural but we invented umbrella ☔ to protect ourselves from it. This simple act conveys deep truth. It tells us that at times we face situations which we can't change, in that case we need to adapt to people as we do with seasons.  Unpredictable behavior or harsh words from loved ones are like rain. We expect warmth or support, but instead we might feel criticism or indifference.    We can not change nature of our closed ones but we can surely adapt to them in a way that protects our peace and brings joy in the moment as we do while walking with umbrella in the rain. Adaptability here doesn't mean giving up, ignoring or leaving the rela...

Be Like Salt: Quietly Powerful, Gently Essential

What a beautiful and wise thought...... "Be like salt — present just enough to be essential, never too much to be taken for granted, and never so little to be ignored." means,  Try to build your personality like salt. People have habit of taking you for granted if you are always good to them. So never let anyone overuse you. At the same time, don’t be so absent that they forget your worth.   Like salt, which enhances flavour without overpowering, one's influence should be significant but not overwhelming.
