Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa Jayanti: A Journey from Devotion to Enlightenment

"The mind is like a white cloth; it takes the color you dip it into."

This great message was given by a great saint and thinker of india, Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa. He was born on 18 February 1836 in Kamarpukur Village, Hooghly District, West Bengal. He was guru of wellknown hindu monk and philosopher Swami vivekananda.

"You see many stars in the sky at night, but not when the sun rises. Can you therefore say that there are no stars in the heavens during the day? O man, because you cannot find God in the days of your ignorance, say not that there is no God."  Such a simple way to explain existance of god.

Today's world in which people’s faith in traditional religions has been considerably reduced by the disbelief, materialism and scientific thinking, his lessons can lead us to true path.

Today on the occassion of Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa Jayanti, I would like to share few of his enlightening messages:

  • All regligions take us to same path ( God is One, but Paths are Many)
  • Emphasiz on Simplicity, Faith (childlike faith), Devotion and Selfless love rather than ritual knowledge
  • Purity of heart (free from greed, jealousy, and ego) is very important
  • Power of holy name comes by constantly repeating the name of God

His legacy continues through the Ramakrishna Mission, spreading his universal message of love, service, and self-realization.

I would like to conclude here with few of his simple but inspiring quotes:

"God listens to sincere prayer"

"God realization is possible for all

"Serving humanity is serving God"

An UMBRELLA mindset: Feeling calm in life's Rainy Moments

Rain is natural. Are we able to stop it?  Are we able to avoid going in rain?   Answer is NO ,   Rather we  CARRY AN UMBRELLA & Enjoy the moment .   Same way,  If unpredictable response comes from our loved-ones in life, what should we do? TAKE AN UMBRELLA APPROACH.   Let me explain in brief: Rain is natural but we invented umbrella ☔ to protect ourselves from it. This simple act conveys deep truth. It tells us that at times we face situations which we can't change, in that case we need to adapt to people as we do with seasons.  Unpredictable behavior or harsh words from loved ones are like rain. We expect warmth or support, but instead we might feel criticism or indifference.    We can not change nature of our closed ones but we can surely adapt to them in a way that protects our peace and brings joy in the moment as we do while walking with umbrella in the rain. Adaptability here doesn't mean giving up, ignoring or leaving the rela...

Be Like Salt: Quietly Powerful, Gently Essential

What a beautiful and wise thought...... "Be like salt — present just enough to be essential, never too much to be taken for granted, and never so little to be ignored." means,  Try to build your personality like salt. People have habit of taking you for granted if you are always good to them. So never let anyone overuse you. At the same time, don’t be so absent that they forget your worth.   Like salt, which enhances flavour without overpowering, one's influence should be significant but not overwhelming.
