When words get woven into a story,
they transform from simple statements into something powerful and meaningful.
History:
It began in Sweden in the early 1990s and has since spread worldwide. On this day, storytellers from different cultures share stories in their languages, often following a common theme each year.
Goal:
The goal is to promote storytelling as a way to connect people, preserve traditions, and inspire creativity. Events include storytelling performances, workshops, and community gatherings, both in-person and online.
Here i would like to take the opportunity to present impact of Storytelling between Parents especially mother and child.
This mechanism has wonderful and countless benefits. Now a days due to excessive use of electronic gadgets these conversions are vanishing but we need to start it again if we are serious about inducing values in our child.
Research shows that when we hear a good story, our brain releases oxytocin, which enhances empathy and trust, making stories powerful tools for connection.
Apart from that Story telling has countless benefits:
- Enhancing language skills and imagination
- Boosts confidence
- Its major benefits are:
- Strengthens Bond (Creates a deep emotional connection through shared experiences),
- Develops Moral Values (Teaches kindness, honesty, and other life lessons),
- Allows the child to understand and express feelings,
- Develops listening skills which is very necessary in today's time
- Last but not least, Storytime provides a sense of love and reassurance.
- It also helps story teller to feel relaxed and reduce stress.
Storytelling is seen in Nature by researchers, even animals use storytelling techniques! Dolphins and some birds communicate with complex sounds that convey information, much like humans sharing experiences.
Storytelling offers numerous benefits across different aspects of life including education, personal development and social interactions.
A great story shared by parents isn’t just about words, it’s about how they are woven together to create impact on a child.
