Smart Shopping Tips (SSS) : Part1 ( Spend Wisely )

Shopping: A woman's joy in every cart.

While shopping brings joy, especially to woman, it also has significant impact on our children. Our shopping behaviour influence financial habits of children and shapes their financial mindset.

Let us explore more on all elements of shopping.

Shopping has mainly three elements to focus : ( SSS )

S - Spending Money

S - Saving Time ( During Shopping)

S - State of Mind ( While Shopping)

Let me highlight tips for each of these elements in this and coming article(s) and try to make our shopping a smart and stress-free experience.

S - Spending Money

Children mimic their parents approach to spending money. They might develop similar habits. Teaching financial literacy from early age will develop healthy relationship with money. It will also stop them with financial mismanagement in adulthood.

Here are few tips on limiting overspending during shopping.
  • Planning is a very important phase of any action. Before shopping keep a list of items to purchase.
  • Keep rough budget in mind.
  • Be aware of the pricing strategies businesses use to attract women shoppers:
    • Charm Pricing / last digit attack strategy (₹999 instead of ₹1000)
Prices ending with .99 or .49 is perceived as significantly lower than next whole number.
    • “Buy More, Save More” Offers
Gives a feel that one is saving money by buying more.
    • Emotional Pricing (Luxury & Limited Editions).
Women often associate exclusive or limited-edition items with high status and uniqueness. Check if a similar product is available at a lower price elsewhere. Use price comparison tools like Google Shopping.
    • Psychological Discounts (Was ₹3,000, Now ₹1,499!).
The original high price makes the discount look bigger.
    • Free Shipping Traps
"Free shipping on purchase of  ₹2000 + purchases" such tags makes you buy unnecessary items. In such cases the extra item might cost you more than shipping fee.
    • “Special for Women” Pricing (Pink Tax).
Women’s products (deodorants, skincare) are often priced higher than similar men’s products. Compare prices with men’s products: sometimes they are cheaper!

    • Check for Coupon Codes & Cashback Offers ( Online Shopping )
Learn to use coupons in online shopping, its easy once you know about it.

    • Shop in Incognito Mode ( Online Shopping )
Some sites increase prices based on browsing history. Use private browsing or clear cookies to get the best deals.
    • Follow Brands on Social Media for Exclusive Deals ( Online Shopping )
Many brands offer first-time discounts or promo codes for subscribers. Join loyalty programs if you frequently shop from a particular website.
    • Investing in durable products saves money in the long run. Avoid buying cheap fast fashion in a hurry that won’t last.
    • Check Return & Exchange Policies

Before purchasing ask yourself :

DO YOU REALLY NEED THE EXTRA ITEMS
OR
ARE YOU SPENDING MORE?

UNDERSTAND THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN NEED AND WANT.

      Enjoy SMART Shopping. 😃

KIDS : Our reflection, Our Responsibility

Friends, can we spare sometime and go back to our childhood....  The fun days we had, stress-free environment we lived, friend circle we had, level of communication we had with our family, games we used to play with our parents and lot many things.....  We did not have so many exposures but yes, the freedom (stress-free) to play and study. We did not have many activities around but still exposure with no competition around.  We did not have too many tuitions but still had professionals and skilled people around.  Feel so nice to think of all this.  BUT  Are we as parents really providing the same environment to our kids? They are always loaded with too much of competition, too many challenges, too many exams and evaluations, too many tuitions. It's an environment full of stress. Its good sometimes to have competition but everything in excess is harmful. Friends it's taking away their childhood. CHILDHOOD COMES ONLY ONCE LET's NOT SPOIL IT... LET THEM ENJOY...

      International Mother Language day (21 feb) : માતૃભાષા આપણું ગૌરવ

Friends, tomorrow is International Mother language day , on this occasion i would like to ask that, when our child speaks English fluently we feel proud but at the same time when he/she cannot even utter a word in our mother tongue why are we not feeling shameful?  It's good and necessary to know fluent English but at the same time it's equally important to know fluent reading and writing of our mother tongue.  Mother tongue is our pride. માતૃભાષા આપણું ગૌરવ છે. 21મી ફેબ્રુઆરી આંતરરાષ્ટ્રીય માતૃભાષા દિવસ તરીકે ઉજવવામાં આવે છે.
