In my previous article,
(https://therupaldiaries.blogspot.com/2025/07/an-umbrella-mindset-feeling-calm-in.html)
I explored an umbrella approach, a very practical yet simple approach which works for sure.
Looking at response to this article I am sure each one of us are going to try it atleast once.
Umbrella Approach Extended :
It's not enough to just to carry an umbrella always, you need to put in efforts to open it up.
Umbrella symbolises
Shelter,
Protection
&
Safety.
We don't just use it in rainy days but we do use it during sunny days, and even during picnics 🏖️. Similarly in life, our presence alone is not enough for the people we love - our children, our family, our friends. Just being there isn’t the goal, what truly matters is how we show up for them.
Like umbrella, support and understanding shouldn’t be reserved for “bad days” alone. They are needed in joy, in chaos, in silence and in ordinary moments too.
So in life, just carrying an umbrella is not enough. But knowing when to open it and for whom makes all the difference.
When your child is tired, cranky, or overwhelmed or when a loved one feels low or emotionally drained, they don't just need your physical presence. They need your comfort. They need your strength. They need your umbrella.
Open up. Talk to them, spend time with them. Provide emotional safety. Let them feel sheltered, seen and supported. This is the real essence of love and connection..
This is what I call the Umbrella approach extended, a conscious choice to be someone’s safe and comfort.
Just carrying care in your heart is not enough. You need to open it, use it when it’s needed most.
Once we understand this simple practical approach,
Even life’s hottest or stormiest roads become walkable with grace, safety, and peace in mind with our loved ones, our kids.
Kids are god gift, be their umbrella always in this technology world even when they don't ask for it. Teach them values before they dive completely into world of technology.
Enjoy all days with ☔ in your bag.
