Learn Faster, Remember Longer: The Science of Multisensory Learning

Today is the phase of learning, evolving, educating ourselves...

In my book 'AI, the silent partner of our life' also I emphasize that in the fast-changing world of AI/technology self-learning is no longer optional, its essential. Each one of us need to educate our self.
Education must go beyond schools and colleges, it should be a lifelong journey for all age groups if we wish to thrive in this era.

So here let's explore one of very powerful concept to accelerate our learning.

Concept is Multi-Sensory Learning

This concept is based on using different learning modes i.e.
VISUAL,
AUDITORY
&
KINESTHETIC
(Kinesthesia happens when the brain gets feedback from muscles and ligaments about how the body is moving. Dancing is a kinesthetic art form)

simultaneously to enhance learning process and memory retention. These might involve activities that appeal to sight, sound, touch, movement, and even smell and taste.

By engaging multiple senses, information is processed more deeply, leading to stronger neural connections and improved memory recall.
Using mutiple senses together to remember one concept, helps you to recollect easily as if we forget by one cue, another cue for the same concept will help you recollect it. There would be multiple cues for the same concept retained in our brain.

This concept works well with kids. So here are some examples of multisensory learning activities which can be used while teaching a concept:
Visual: Use pictures, diagrams, videos, color-coded notes, and mind maps.

Auditory: Listen to music or lectures, participate in discussions and reciting information aloud.

Kinesthetic (Movement): Engaging in role-playing, building models or using movement-based games to learn concepts.

Tactile (Touch) : Working with manipulatives like building blocks, playdough, or textured materials to explore shapes, letters, or numbers.

Olfactory/Gustatory: (Taste & Smell): Using scents or tastes to associate with specific information or concepts (e.g., smelling spices while learning about different cuisines).

Hope this helps. As i came across this concept thought of sharing it with you all. Will share more about another such concept in coming articles.

My First Book: My Jounrney from article 1 to article 50...

An article with celebration : 50 it is not just a number of this article , it's a milestone, a journey, an experience and learning too.... Yes friends, this is my 50th article. And here I would like to make an important announcement that while writing articles on diverse topics i landed up writing one book 📚 which I have published recently on various platforms. This is my first book.  With blessings of God and elders , wishes of all well-wishers and inspiration of all my readers, I could make this happen. The title of the book is:   " AI, The silent partner of our life",  AI and US, Rising the future.   The book is an eye-opener for all age groups. The book is about Artificial intelligence and Us.  It  explores the role of artificial Intelligence / technology in shaping the way we live, learn, work and connect.  This book serves as a valuable resource for us, simplifying the complexities of raising children in today's world. The book also highlights o...

KIDS : Our reflection, Our Responsibility

Friends, can we spare sometime and go back to our childhood....  The fun days we had, stress-free environment we lived, friend circle we had, level of communication we had with our family, games we used to play with our parents and lot many things.....  We did not have so many exposures but yes, the freedom (stress-free) to play and study. We did not have many activities around but still exposure with no competition around.  We did not have too many tuitions but still had professionals and skilled people around.  Feel so nice to think of all this.  BUT  Are we as parents really providing the same environment to our kids? They are always loaded with too much of competition, too many challenges, too many exams and evaluations, too many tuitions. It's an environment full of stress. Its good sometimes to have competition but everything in excess is harmful. Friends it's taking away their childhood. CHILDHOOD COMES ONLY ONCE LET's NOT SPOIL IT... LET THEM ENJOY...

International Mother Language day (21 feb) : માતૃભાષા આપણું ગૌરવ

Friends, tomorrow is International Mother language day , on this occasion i would like to ask that, when our child speaks English fluently we feel proud but at the same time when he/she cannot even utter a word in our mother tongue why are we not feeling shameful?  It's good and necessary to know fluent English but at the same time it's equally important to know fluent reading and writing of our mother tongue.  Mother tongue is our pride. માતૃભાષા આપણું ગૌરવ છે. 21મી ફેબ્રુઆરી આંતરરાષ્ટ્રીય માતૃભાષા દિવસ તરીકે ઉજવવામાં આવે છે.
