Micro-vacation: Small STEPS, Large JOY

Vacation: what an exciting word!

Let's go back to our school and college days,

we eagerly waited for vacations: be it Diwali or summer and enjoyed them to the fullest. But as we grew older, the word vacation slowly drifted away from us.

Taking a leave from office became a task, almost like hitting a target. Whether in a corporate job or running our own business, planning a holiday turned into a big project. And for a housewife planning a vacation is like a project, so many adjustments and so many tasks in hand to complete before going for a vacation. And if everything aligned in time, it felt like an achievement!

What if I tell you there’s a concept that can bring back that same vacation feeling without all the planning? Sounds exciting, right?

Let’s pause and think—what does vacation truly mean?

Vacation is actually a State of mind.  A vacation doesn’t always mean packing bags, traveling miles or spending a fortune. Sometimes, switching off from routine and switching on to yourself is enough. It’s all about a free, relaxed, no-schedule mindset. Time spent at our own pace, doing things we love, outside of routine.

Now imagine if we give ourselves the same experience, not for days, but just for few hours. Can we call it a Micro Vacation? YES.

A micro vacation is

simply

"Giving your mind and body a pause button"...

“Pause the world. Take a moment”...

“Tiny escape. Big re-charge”...

“A short journey to stillness”.

Simple Pleasures as Micro Vacations:

  • Sitting with a cup of tea by the window without checking your phone.
  • Taking a slow walk in the park, observing nature.
  • Listening to your favourite playlist with eyes closed.
  • Trying a hobby you’ve kept aside for years: Painting, Music or Gardening.

These little joys can refresh you as much as a week-long trip!

Many a times looking at work in hand, we feel such micro vacations is wasting time but it's actually an investment. It boosts focus, creativity and energy—helping you come back to your work or family with a lighter, happier mind.

Micro Vacations is everyday Celebration. Why should birthdays or holidays be the only days we celebrate? A micro vacation makes ordinary days special.

It teaches us to find joy in the now, instead of waiting for the “big holiday.”

Plan it Like an Event:

Just as we mark meetings or kid's school schedules on the calendar, let’s block a few hours for ourselves. Even if it’s once in 15 days, treat it like an unmissable appointment: “My Micro Vacation Time.”

In today’s fast world,

we often chase big achievements, long vacations and perfect moments.

But Friends,

Happiness doesn’t always come in big packages: it also comes in micro doses.

A micro vacation reminds us that joy is a choice, available here and now.

Every week or even once a month, you can carve out a few hours as your micro vacation. Step away from routine, indulge in things that bring you joy and recharge your mind. We often wait for weekends or kid's vacations to do this, but now, by naming it our own micro vacation, we reclaim that happiness for ourselves.

In short,

A micro vacation is not about escaping life,

it’s about returning to it with more life in you.

So go on, try it. Feel it.

Happy Micro Vacation, friends! 🌸

KIDS : Our reflection, Our Responsibility

Friends, can we spare sometime and go back to our childhood....  The fun days we had, stress-free environment we lived, friend circle we had, level of communication we had with our family, games we used to play with our parents and lot many things.....  We did not have so many exposures but yes, the freedom (stress-free) to play and study. We did not have many activities around but still exposure with no competition around.  We did not have too many tuitions but still had professionals and skilled people around.  Feel so nice to think of all this.  BUT  Are we as parents really providing the same environment to our kids? They are always loaded with too much of competition, too many challenges, too many exams and evaluations, too many tuitions. It's an environment full of stress. Its good sometimes to have competition but everything in excess is harmful. Friends it's taking away their childhood. CHILDHOOD COMES ONLY ONCE LET's NOT SPOIL IT... LET THEM ENJOY...

International Mother Language day (21 feb) : માતૃભાષા આપણું ગૌરવ

Friends, tomorrow is International Mother language day , on this occasion i would like to ask that, when our child speaks English fluently we feel proud but at the same time when he/she cannot even utter a word in our mother tongue why are we not feeling shameful?  It's good and necessary to know fluent English but at the same time it's equally important to know fluent reading and writing of our mother tongue.  Mother tongue is our pride. માતૃભાષા આપણું ગૌરવ છે. 21મી ફેબ્રુઆરી આંતરરાષ્ટ્રીય માતૃભાષા દિવસ તરીકે ઉજવવામાં આવે છે.
