Unfolding Meaning of "Ganapati Bappa Morya"

“Ganapati Bappa Morya”, a rich statement of faith.






Cheerful salutations (JayJaykar), a very common tradition in Indian culture to worship God, Saint and Guru during religious gatherings. It brings positivity, strength and inner-joy. More often we chant without fully understanding the deeper meaning woven into our words. 

During Lord Ganesha’s celebration, we all energetically chanted “Ganapati Bappa Morya.” It made me pause and wonder: Do we truly grasp the depth behind our devotional chants?

Friends there’s a beautiful and heartfelt story behind the phrase: “Ganapati Bappa Morya.” Let’s explore its depth and origins. 'Morya' is a name of a saint who was deeply devoted to Lord Ganesha. With blessings of Lord Ganesha, people started believing him as saint with divine power. His "power"(Ashta Siddhis) was not physical but a spiritual one derived by divine grace of Lord Ganesha.

As a reward, Ganesha appeared in Morya's dreams and granted his wish that Ganesha's name would always be followed by "Morya".


He established Lord ganesha temple in Chinchwad (near Pune).  The saint entered sanjeevan samadhi in Chinchwad 1561 AD. His son, Chintamani Maharaj, later built a temple over the site, which is now a major pilgrimage destination for Ganesha devotees.


“Ganapati Bappa Morya” means “O Lord Ganesha, with the blessings of Saint Morya, come and bless us!”


Next time we chant “Ganapati Bappa Morya,” may we feel more than celebration. May it connect us deeply with Lord Ganesha and with honor the saintly devotion of Morya Gosavi that gives the chant its lasting meaning.

KIDS : Our reflection, Our Responsibility

Friends, can we spare sometime and go back to our childhood....  The fun days we had, stress-free environment we lived, friend circle we had, level of communication we had with our family, games we used to play with our parents and lot many things.....  We did not have so many exposures but yes, the freedom (stress-free) to play and study. We did not have many activities around but still exposure with no competition around.  We did not have too many tuitions but still had professionals and skilled people around.  Feel so nice to think of all this.  BUT  Are we as parents really providing the same environment to our kids? They are always loaded with too much of competition, too many challenges, too many exams and evaluations, too many tuitions. It's an environment full of stress. Its good sometimes to have competition but everything in excess is harmful. Friends it's taking away their childhood. CHILDHOOD COMES ONLY ONCE LET's NOT SPOIL IT... LET THEM ENJOY...

International Mother Language day (21 feb) : માતૃભાષા આપણું ગૌરવ

Friends, tomorrow is International Mother language day , on this occasion i would like to ask that, when our child speaks English fluently we feel proud but at the same time when he/she cannot even utter a word in our mother tongue why are we not feeling shameful?  It's good and necessary to know fluent English but at the same time it's equally important to know fluent reading and writing of our mother tongue.  Mother tongue is our pride. માતૃભાષા આપણું ગૌરવ છે. 21મી ફેબ્રુઆરી આંતરરાષ્ટ્રીય માતૃભાષા દિવસ તરીકે ઉજવવામાં આવે છે.
