Temple Flag: A Symbol of Blessings and Peace

The temple flag holds great significance in many religions, including Jainism. 

It is not just a decorative item, it is a symbol deeply rooted in tradition, spirituality and respect.



General Importance of the Temple Flag

  1. Symbol of Devotion and Respect: 
    Hoisting a flag is an act of devotion, showing respect to our god housed within the temple.

  2. Marker of a Sacred Space:
    From a distance, the flag atop a temple helps people identify it as a sacred space. It acts as a guide for devotees and pilgrims.

  3. Spiritual Protection:
    The flag is believed to protect the temple and the surrounding area from negative energies.

  4. Representation of Everlasting Worship:
    A flag fluttering in the wind signifies that worship is ongoing, even when the temple doors are closed.

  5. Cultural Identity and Tradition:
    The colours, symbols and materials used often reflect the culture, beliefs and heritage of the region and religion.

In Jainism, 

the Jain flag is usually Five-Coloured Flag, representing the Panch Parmesthi : the five supreme beings:

  • White for Arihantas (liberated souls who teach truth)
  • Red for Siddhas (liberated souls)
  • Yellow for Acharyas (spiritual leaders)
  • Green for Upadhyayas (teachers)
  • Blue/Black for Sadhus and Sadhvis (monks and nuns)
Hoisting the Jain flag is an act of respect toward these five supreme beings.


Need to Worship a temple flag

Worshipping our temple flag is a beautiful act of devotion and gratitude. It symbolizes our respect and surrender towards our God.

Even if one cannot visit the temple in person, offering prayers to the flag is like bowing before the deity itself.


It is believed that the temple flag carries the sacred energy of the temple and its deity. When the flag is brought home and worshipped, it is believed to bring peace, prosperity and protection to the family.


Raising or worshipping the dhwaja also helps us stay spiritually connected to the temple and reminds us of our soul’s ultimate goal: purity and goodness.

KIDS : Our reflection, Our Responsibility

Friends, can we spare sometime and go back to our childhood....  The fun days we had, stress-free environment we lived, friend circle we had, level of communication we had with our family, games we used to play with our parents and lot many things.....  We did not have so many exposures but yes, the freedom (stress-free) to play and study. We did not have many activities around but still exposure with no competition around.  We did not have too many tuitions but still had professionals and skilled people around.  Feel so nice to think of all this.  BUT  Are we as parents really providing the same environment to our kids? They are always loaded with too much of competition, too many challenges, too many exams and evaluations, too many tuitions. It's an environment full of stress. Its good sometimes to have competition but everything in excess is harmful. Friends it's taking away their childhood. CHILDHOOD COMES ONLY ONCE LET's NOT SPOIL IT... LET THEM ENJOY...

International Mother Language day (21 feb) : માતૃભાષા આપણું ગૌરવ

Friends, tomorrow is International Mother language day , on this occasion i would like to ask that, when our child speaks English fluently we feel proud but at the same time when he/she cannot even utter a word in our mother tongue why are we not feeling shameful?  It's good and necessary to know fluent English but at the same time it's equally important to know fluent reading and writing of our mother tongue.  Mother tongue is our pride. માતૃભાષા આપણું ગૌરવ છે. 21મી ફેબ્રુઆરી આંતરરાષ્ટ્રીય માતૃભાષા દિવસ તરીકે ઉજવવામાં આવે છે.
